The government's revenue from Banglabandha land port is about Tk 236 crore in five years | The government's revenue from Banglabandha, the country's only quadrilateral land port, has been Tk 235 crore 92 lakh 73 thousand in the last five years.In the last fiscal year (2022-2023), the revenue from the land port was 64 crore 7 lakh taka, which is 5 crore 74 lakh taka more than the target. In addition, in the fiscal year 2021-2022, the revenue from this port was 64 crore 7 lakh taka, whereas the target was 41 crore 64 lakh taka. In the fiscal year 2020-2021, the revenue collection is Tk 61 crore 14 lakh - which is almost twice the target.On the other hand, in the fiscal years 2019-2020 and 2018-2019, the revenue from this port has been 21 crore 64 lakh and 25 crore 73 thousand taka respectively.Banglabandha land port is the only quadrilateral land port in the country. This port has created huge potential for import and export of goods with India, Nepal and Bhutan. Banglabandha land port has undergone many infrastructural developments in the last few years. As a result, import and export increased. Most of the stone is imported through Banglabandha land port. Apart from stone, various products including machinery, pulses, rice, corn, plastic, grains and ginger are imported through this land port. The products exported through this land port include - Potatoes, Batteries, Soft Drinks, Garments, Caps, Soaps, Biscuits, Chanachur, Juices, Glass, Jute and Jute Products etc.It is to be noted that in 1997, the first business and trade with Nepal started through Banglabandha land port. Then in 2011, trade with India started through this port. Immigration started at this port in 2016. On January 1, 2017, the quadrilateral business activity of this land port started with the import of stone from Bhutan.
