According to mining sources, the authorities announced the cessation of coal mining on December 29, 2023, as the coal reserves of 1412 faces were exhausted. 2 lakh 72 thousand tons of coal has been mined against the target of 2 lakh 20 thousand tons of coal from 1412 face. Which is about 24 percent more than the target. Later the machinery was moved from 1412 face to 1209 face. Authorities said at that time that coal mining from the new face would take up to the first week of March this year. But coal mining from the new face was started on an experimental basis from Thursday night ahead of schedule.

The MD of the coal mine said that it will be possible to extract 360,000 tons of coal from the new face. Coal will be extracted from this well till July this year. Initially 1,500 to 2,000 tons of coal will be lifted experimentally daily and later 3,000 to 3,500 tons of coal will be lifted daily.
