The government has decided to import onions and sugar from India before the fasting of the holy month of Ramadan. Dinajpur Hilli land port traders have started preparations to import these two products from India.

Yusuf Ali said, according to the decision of the Ministry of Commerce, traders have been advised to open LC to import these two products, onion and sugar, from India through Hili land port before the holy month of Ramadan. He said, the Ministry of Commerce has taken this decision to control market prices during the holy month of Ramadan. After hearing this information, the importer-exporters of Heli land port have been contacting the Indian Import-Exporters Association since Monday morning. He said that in a very short time the traders will open the LC and start importing these two products from India.
Harunur Rashid Harun, President of Dinajpur Hilli Land Port Import-Export Association, told reporters on Monday afternoon that traders will import these two products to help control the market price of the country as per the instructions of the Ministry of Commerce. He said that a class of unscrupulous traders are destabilizing the prices of these two daily essential products by keeping illegal stocks in the market. That is why the importers will cooperate in all ways to keep the market price bearable by importing two products from India.
