City life in the heat of Baisakh. Nature is burning in the heat of Boishakh. Weary people are panting in the heat wave. Intolerable heat is the nature of life. In this situation, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) is sprinkling water on various roads of the capital under its jurisdiction to reduce air pollution and severe heat wave. Besides, 250 vans are providing water to the pedestrians.
Two DNCC spray cannons and 10 browser vehicles were lined up on Syed Mahbub Morshed Sarani Road in Agargaon on Saturday (April 27). Besides, a special van for food and water is also kept. The mayor will come there, inspect the activities, give instructions.
DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam came around 11:30. Meanwhile, seeing all such spray cannons and browser cars, children and teenagers from the surrounding area had already gathered there. After seeing the arrival of the mayor, the spray cannon was continued. Water kept pouring like a fountain all around. The children and teenagers present began to get wet in this water. Mayor Atiq also got involved with the children and wet himself.
Later, Mayor Atiqul Islam said, water is being sprinkled with these advanced technology machines every day from morning to afternoon through DNCC’s two spray cannons and 10 browsers. Each vehicle holds 15,000 liters of water and can spray continuously for 5 hours. It also plays a role in preventing air pollution as well as reducing heat. In addition, 3 special vans have been brought down in each ward to provide drinking water to the pedestrians.
