The men’s Twenty20 World Cup is going to be screened in the United States and the Caribbean Islands next June. Women’s T20 World Cup will also be held in the same year. Bangladesh is a bit more enthusiastic about the Women’s World Cup. Because Bangladesh is the host of this year’s World Cup. ICC has released the schedule of the tournament to be held in September-October.
The schedule for the ninth edition of the Women’s Twenty20 World Cup was announced at a hotel in the capital on Sunday (May 5) at noon. The Women’s World Cup will start on October 3. The final will be held on October 20.
In the 10-team World Cup, eight teams from two groups are finalists. The remaining two teams will come by playing the qualifiers. Six-time champions Australia are in Group A along with India, New Zealand, Pakistan and a team of qualifiers. Bangladesh has England, South Africa, West Indies, South Africa and a team from the qualifiers in the ‘B’ group.
A total of 23 matches will be held in the upcoming World Cup. The venue for the warm-up match is BKSP. The main matches of the World Cup will be held at Ground 2 of Mirpur Home of Cricket and Sylhet International Cricket Stadium and Sylhet International Stadium.
Sports Minister and BCB President Nazmul Hasan Papon and ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardyce were present at the schedule announcement and trophy unveiling. Along with Bangladesh women’s team captain Nigar Sultana Jyoti and India women’s team captain Harmanpreet Kaur.
