“Prime Minister returns from Italy to the country.”

After a three-day official visit, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has returned to the country from Italy. The Prime Minister’s Press Secretary, MM Emrul Kayes, stated that she left Rome on a regular flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines at 10:00 AM on Wednesday.

During her visit to Italy on July 23, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina attended the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations’ High-Level Conference on Food Systems Summit +2 Stocktaking Moment. She was invited by the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to join the Food Systems Summit +2 Stocktaking Moment held in Rome from July 24 to 26. The summit focused on “Sustainable Food Systems: Pathways to a Resilient Future.” In her speech, the Prime Minister presented five proposals to ensure global food security and nutrition.

The summit was attended by various heads of state, government leaders, agricultural experts, food producers, scientists, researchers, and other stakeholders from different countries. After the inaugural ceremony, Prime Minister Hasina participated in the “Food System and Climate Action” thematic session.

On the same day, in the evening, she also attended the inauguration ceremony of the Bangladesh-Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Room at the FAO headquarters. On July 25, she participated in the “Regional Ambassador’s Conference” held with Bangladesh’s appointed ambassadors in 15 European countries. Additionally, the Prime Minister attended several bilateral meetings and engagements with local expatriates during her visit.
