The National Moon Sighting Committee is meeting on Tuesday (April 9) evening to determine the date of the moon sighting of the holy month of Shawwal of 1445 Hijri and the date of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday at 6:30 pm in the meeting room of Baitul Mukarram. This information was informed in a press release of the Islamic Foundation on Monday (April 8).
The meeting will be chaired by the president of the National Moon Sighting Committee and the Minister of Religion. Faridul Haque Khan.
Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on April 10 or 11 depending on the sighting of the moon. If the moon is sighted on Tuesday, the 29th of Ramadan will end on 10th April and if the moon is not sighted, the 30th of Ramadan will be completed and Eid will be celebrated on 11th of April.
If the moon of the holy month of Shawal is seen somewhere in the sky of Bangladesh, the Islamic Foundation has requested to inform the district administrator or upazila executive officer of the concerned district on 02-223381725, 02-41050912 telephone and 02-41050916 and 02-41050917 fax numbers.
