The citizens of Sylhet are getting to know the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) for the first time. There is a lot of curiosity among the voters about this.

BNP central leader Ariful Haque Chowdhury, the current mayor of CSIC, did not participate in the election due to the party’s non-participation. One of his complaints was about EVMs. As a result, even if there is hesitation among the voters of Sylhet city, they will have to elect their preferred candidates by voting through EVM. Therefore, the Election Commission is campaigning to eliminate EVM errors and conduct fair polls.

The elections for Sylhet City Corporation will be held on the upcoming 21st of June. This time, in all wards, voting will be conducted through Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) for the first time. To ensure that city residents can vote without any doubts, Sylhet Regional Election Office is conducting awareness campaigns.
