After a long time, another Bangladeshi singer made her debut in Bollywood. This time Asif Akbar has given his voice in several songs in Bollywood.

Asif himself gave the news about singing in Bollywood. Posting on the verified Facebook page, the artist said, “Alhamdulillah. I made my debut in the Mumbai film industry. I have flown the flag of dear Bangladesh. ALLAH is great. Love is endless.”

After going to India, Asif sang songs at AR Rahman’s KM Studio and Yash Raj Studio. However, he did not say that the song is for any film.

Before Asif Akbar, some other artists of Bangladesh have sung Hindi songs in Bollywood movies. Their songs are very popular.

Runa Laila is the first Bangladeshi to play back in Bollywood. In 1976, Runa sang the item song of the movie “Ek Se Barkar Ek” composed by famous music directors Kalyanji-Anandji.

He then sang “Do Diwane Sheher Mein” in the film “Gharonda” with Bhupinder Singh. The song “Mar Gayo Re” sung by Runa from the movie “Jan-e-Bahar” with Mohammad Rafi is quite popular. Apart from this, Runa Laila has sung some other songs in Bollywood.

Popular vocalist late Andrew Kishore made Bollywood playback with RD Burman’s tune in 1986. He sang in the movie “Enemy” directed by Pramod Chakraborty, jointly produced by Bangladesh-India. The audience was enthralled by the songs “Suraj Chanda”, “Me Teri Bismil Hu” written by lyricist Mazru Sultanpuri.

Bangladeshi Mahfuz Anam James of Nagarbaul fame gave his first voice in 2005 in the song “Vigi Vigi Rate” in the movie “Gangster” directed by Anurag Bose to the music of Bollywood composer Pritam. The song became hugely popular. Which still has its roots.

In 2006, James lent his voice to the songs “Albida”, “Rishte” and “Chal Chale Apne Ghar” in the films “O Lamhe” and “Life in a Metro” in 2007. He also sang the song “Bebasi” from the movie “Warning” in 2013.

After a long time, Asif Akbar made his name in Bollywood as another Bangladeshi. Asif Akbar appeared in Bengali music as a singer in the late nineties. He has been in the professional music arena for over two decades. The first album “O Priya Tumi Kare” gained skyrocketing popularity.
