An American doctor of Palestinian origin walked out of a meeting with US President Joe Biden last Tuesday (2/4/2024) to protest the Israelis’ brutal massacre of Palestinians in Gaza. His name is Dr. Thayer Ahmed. He is working as an emergency doctor in a hospital in Chicago, USA.

US broadcaster CNN reported that last Tuesday (2/4/2024), President Joe Biden held a meeting with a small number of Muslim American community leaders in the United States at the White House. Vice President Kamala Harris, National Security Advisor Jack Sullivan and other administration officials were present at the time.

On October 7, a war broke out between Israel and the Palestinian independence group Hamas, which is still ongoing. America has been supporting Israel since the beginning of this war. Due to this, US President Joe Biden has faced several protest incidents in the past few months.

According to CNN, Joe Biden was originally scheduled to attend an iftar and dinner with Muslim American community leaders at the White House. Later, when Muslim leaders refused to eat food in the context of the starvation of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza, only meetings were held at the White House.

After the meeting, a White House official said, President Joe Biden’s meeting with Muslim community leaders was deeply sad. He expressed deep sorrow for every innocent person killed in Gaza. At the same time, he reiterated his commitment to continue working towards a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages.

Meanwhile, when leaving the meeting Dr. Thayer Ahmed said, “I have visited different hospitals in Gaza, what indescribable suffering the Palestinians are suffering there. And I am unfortunately the only Palestinian in this meeting. I am leaving the meeting out of respect for my community.”

According to CNN’s report, Dr. when leaving the meeting. Thayer Rafahar handed Biden a letter written by eight-year-old orphan Hadeel.
