Junaid Ahmed Palak, Minister of State for Posts, Telecommunications and Technology, said that two million youths have been employed in the ICT sector in the last 15 years. Our first goal was to build skilled human resources, second was to bring everyone under the internet connection at affordable cost, third was digital government and fourth was ICT.
He said, 15 years ago the export income in the ICT sector was 26 million dollars, now it stands at 1.9 billion dollars. We want to do something new. He said these things at the first convocation ceremony of Khwaja Yunus Ali University in Enayetpur, Sirajganj on Saturday morning.
He said that Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina made Bangladesh digital in a short period of time with the skill and honesty. Vision 41 is illustrated. Four new pillars have been defined there. First is Smart Citizen, Second Smart Economic, Smart Government and Fourth Smart Society. All will be implemented.
About 16,500 graduates registered in the university at the convocation ceremony.
Chairman of Bangladesh Accreditation Council Professor Dr. Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, member of the Bangladesh University Grants Commission Professor Dr. Biswajit Chandra, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Khwaja Yunus Ali University Mohammad Yusuf and Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Hossain Reza and others.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Dr. MM Amjad Hossain was presented with a certificate along with a gold medal. Later, artists of the country including students of the university performed songs and dances in a wonderful cultural program.
