He made this proposal in a table discussion at the AI ​​for Good Governance event at the United Nations World Summit on Information Society +20 Summit in Geneva, Switzerland on Wednesday (May 29).

The State Minister said, ‘We’ means government, private sector, NGOs, INGOs and industry, scientists, academia together and we have collectively tried to find out how to successfully implement AI governance networks. Besides, we want to create opportunities to introduce AI laws, guidelines, policies from the United Nations and various countries.

Later in the panel discussion of Leaders Speak: Insights and Key Findings on AI Governance Implementation, State Minister Palak said that AI plays an important role in human empowerment and innovation. Yet we must be vigilant and proactive in addressing its risks. By working together with government, industry and society, we can secure ourselves against AI’s potential threats while harnessing its power for good in the greater good.

He also said that Bangladesh is a developing country that has ambitions and expectations for AI. One of our most timely initiatives is the development of ‘G-Brain’, the Government Brain, which is powered by AI, aimed at enhancing and enhancing our government’s ability to deliver services more effectively. As we embrace the advancement of AI, we must build strong defenses to protect against its misuse. Establishing ethical guidelines and regulatory frameworks is crucial to ensure the positive use of AI.
