Professor Sripati Sikder, Director of Mass Communication Department of Dinajpur Haji Mohammad Danesh University of Science and Technology, confirmed this information at 9 pm yesterday, Saturday. He said, 4 thousand 762 universities of different countries of the world have been placed in this list. In the list of the best universities in the country, Dinajpur Haji Mohammad Danesh University of Science and Technology (Habiprobi) has advanced 9 places to the 22nd position and which is the third place among science and technology universities. Last time it was ranked 31st in Habiprabi. The ranking was published by reviewing the results of 3 indicators – research, social impact and innovation. The organization publishes a separate ranking based on the results of the 3 indicators and a combined overall ranking. To sum it up, they give 50 percent points to research, 30 percent to innovation and 20 percent to social impact. According to the ranking, Habibrabi ranks 29th, 36th and 19th in the country in the 3 indicators of research, innovation and social impact respectively. And the overall position of Habibrabi in 3 subjects is 22nd in the country. Data analysis shows that the position of Haji Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University has improved in the past years. Habibrabi’s position was 31st last year. According to the ranking, Habibrabi was ranked 26th, 31st and 30th in the country in the 3 indicators of research, innovation impact and social impact respectively.
In the last year 2022, Habiprobi’s position was 29th. According to the ranking, Habiprobi’s position in 3 indicators – research, innovation impact and social impact – was 19th, 34th and 29th respectively in the country. That means that in the past years, Habiprobi’s position in this ranking has continuously improved as well as deteriorated.
In this regard, the director of the university’s student counseling and guidance department, Professor Dr. Md Mahabub Hossain said, “The University is a place of education and research. The present Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. M. Kamruzzaman Sir, after coming to the campus, gave instructions to take the University to a respectable position in the international rankings. Information updating and supply as well as international standards – to further improve the research field.” work in progress
He said, according to the ranking, the top 10 universities in the country in the study in 2024 are the private universities of Chittagong, BGC Trust University, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (Bashemurkribi), Dhaka Medical College (DMEC), State University of Bangladesh, Jahangirnagar University (JABI), respectively. Begum Rokeya University (Berobi), Maulana Bhasani University of Science and Technology (Mavabiprobi), Bangladesh Agricultural University, Daffodil International University and Chittagong University (CHB).
On the other hand, the top 10 universities in the country in terms of social impact are respectively Dhaka University (DU), Bangladesh University of Engineering (BUET), BRAC University, Rajshahi University (RAB), Chittagong University (CHB), Khulna University (KHUBI), Khulna University of Engineering and Technology ( KUET), Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET), Maulana Bhasani University of Science and Technology (Mavabiprabi), Jahangirnagar University (JABI). And the top ten universities in the country in terms of innovation index are respectively Sylhet Agricultural University (SIKRBI), State University of Bangladesh, East West University, Islamic University, Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CHUTE), Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Shabiprobi), Comilla University (Kubi), BRAC University, Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET), Bangladesh Agricultural University (Bakribi) and Khulna. University of Engineering and Technology (Kuwait).
And overall (research-50%, social impact-20% and innovation-30%) according to Simago ranking 2024, the top ten universities in the country are BGC Trust University Bangladesh, Sylhet Agricultural University (SIKRBI), State University of Bangladesh, Islamic University ( EB), Dhaka University (DU), Maulana Bhasani University of Science and Technology (Mavabiprabi), University of Chittagong (CHB), Comilla University (KUBI), BRAC University, Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET).
