Dhaka division in the era of high speed internet | Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) has launched high-speed broadband internet 'Jeevan'. And Dhaka Division has entered it. Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology State Minister Junaid Ahmed Palak inaugurated this service from Narayanganj Telephone Exchange Building. The matter was confirmed by the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology on Saturday (March 9).

Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) has launched high-speed broadband internet ‘Jeevan’. And Dhaka Division has entered it. Post, Telecommunication and Information Technology State Minister Junaid Ahmed Palak inaugurated this service from Narayanganj Telephone Exchange Building. The matter was confirmed by the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology on Saturday (March 9).

The ministry said that State Minister Palak inaugurated 3,000 high-speed internet connectivity service ‘Jeevan’ in Narayanganj district. Later, 4 thousand in Banshri area of Dhaka district of Dhaka division, 6 thousand in Babu Bazar area, 18 thousand in Uttara area, 1 thousand in Jahangirnagar University area, 10 thousand in Japan Garden City area, 16 thousand in Sherbangla Nagar area, 12 thousand in Ramna area, Khilgaon were added to the smart platform. 8,000 in the area, 14,000 in the Neelkhet area, 15,000 in the Mirpur area.

At the same time 10 thousand in Gulshan area, 3 thousand in Gandaria area, 3 thousand in Jatrabari area, 6 thousand in Diabari area, 8 thousand in Cantonment area, 20 thousand in Moghbazar area, 6 thousand in Baridhara area and 3 thousand 600 in Munshiganj district, 4 thousand in Gazipur district, 2 in Narsingdi district. 1,300, 3,000 in Manikganj district, 3,000 in Tangail district, 2,300 in Rajbari district, 3,000 in Shariatpur district, 3,000 in Faridpur district, 3,000 in Madaripur district, 3,600 in Kishoreganj district were inaugurated.

At that time, Palak said, the life line of BTCL will be the passive optical network ‘Jeevan’. Jivan will contribute fruitfully to keep BTCL alive, moving forward and making it a profitable company in the future.

He said, Bangladesh is today a role model of development in the world due to the brilliant and courageous plan of Sajib Wazed Joy, the architect of Digital Bangladesh Bangabandhu, and the implementation of Digital Bangladesh under the visionary and wise leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. As a result, revolutionary changes have been initiated in the telecommunication and information technology sectors in the country.

Incidentally, on February 21, a special affordable package of internet bandwidth ‘Jeevan’ of BTCL was announced in memory of language martyrs. Under this, the existing price of 5 Mbps has been reduced from Tk 500 to Tk 399 and 10 Mbps internet bandwidth has been fixed at Tk 500 only.
