Since the rise of the Awami League in 2009, Dhaka College has had three committees. Among them, one full-fledged committee was formed in 2012, and two interim committees were formed in 2011 and 2016. In October 2012, a committee was formed but disbanded in November of the following year due to clashes between two groups, resulting in the unfortunate death of a college student named Faruk. After that incident, the committee was dissolved by the central authority. In November 2016, a committee comprising 127 members was formed. However, at the beginning of 2017, due to an unforeseen incident, the committee was again dissolved by the former central leaders. Since January 2017, there is no committee in Dhaka College in a formal sense.
